Wherein bright Emily, fair and serene

My students keep talking about this girl Katy Perry that's apparently very big in America and telling me that I look like her. I decided to search Google for her, and I really don't see the similarities.

Okay, maybe I do. But honestly, she's a strange little thing. And no, I will not be singing "I Kissed a Girl" for the talent show. Even if it's an incredibly catchy song.

I think I'm going to get a pet. My flat is rather lonely without anyone or any thing else there. Are we allowed pets in the teachers' flats? I should probably find that out first.

I'm thinking about getting a rabbit. Has anyone else had a rabbit? I hear they're easy enough to take care of, and of course they're adorable and cuddly too! I do adore dogs, but I'd feel terrible leaving it home alone for so many hours of the day, and I'm certain they are not allowed.

To those interested: An article that I found particularly interesting in the new issue of The Art Newspaper. It's morbid, sure, but it's so incredibly interesting. Giving up your body for art! I think that's absolutely fantastic...though feeding a person to goldfish is a bit odd. To each his or her own, I guess.
